About NerdyHiFi
With a background in web design, Nick Ray created NerdyHiFi as a place to share his thoughts and experiences, mainly with IEMs, DACs, headphones, and similar stuff. It’s a space to document personal impressions of different gear, enjoy the hobby, and slowly build an archive over time. The blog is still in its early days with only a few posts so far, but it will keep growing gradually. Hopefully, it becomes something worth coming back to.
I’ve found that audio is not something I can fully judge just from measurements. They are useful for understanding tonality, but they do not really capture things like timbre, texture, dynamics, or how music actually feels when you listen to it. That is why listening always comes first here, with graphs used more as a reference than a final answer.
I do not consider myself fully unbiased either. Audio is inherently subjective, and personal preferences naturally shape how we hear things. Everything I share is based on my own experience, with no outside influence, and NerdyHiFi stays honest and transparent in how each review is approached.
There is also a page explaining how everything is scored. You can check the How We Rate page.
